    Asa C. Lockhart, MD MBA

    Dr. Lockhart is a co-founder and Principal of Golden Caduceus Consultants. His firm has assisted over 219 clients in 41 states with stabilization/rehabilitation strategies, staffing plan formulation, fair-market value assessments, strategic planning, perioperative flow optimization, updates and health system reform positioning strategies, and request for proposal assistance. He received his Medical Doctor in 1973 from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1998. He completed his Anesthesiology Internship and Residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia from 1974-1976. He has been very active in organized medicine. His activities include serving as President of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists in 1990-1991 and received their Distinguished Service Award in 2020. He served in the House of Delegate (1986-2021), Course Director for the Certificate in Business Administration (2000-2018), Committees on Practice Management (1999-2018), and Future Models of Anesthesia (2010-2016) with the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He served as a physician advisor during the development of the MGMA Cost Survey for Anesthesia and Pain Management Practices and Chair of the Texas Medical Association’s Ad Hoc Committee on Accountable Care Organizations (2010-2012). With the American Medical Association, he served in their House of Delegates (2000-2022), Vice-Chair of the Texas Delegation to the AMA (2014-2018), and on the AMA Council on Medical Service (2014-2020). He served as the Vice-Chair of the National Physicians Council for Healthcare Policy (2015-2018). He is an Admiral in the Texas Navy and the past Commander of the Sam Houston Squadron (2023-2024). He is also a Son of the Republic of Texas and the Sons of the American Revolution. He is passionate about the future and sustainability of our healthcare system.
